Hi, I’m Amanda, a wedding photographer and artist based in Oakland, California. I’ve been photographing weddings for five years, mostly on film. My background in art, landscape architecture, and graphic design shapes how I approach photographing weddings, from light and composition to the details that make each wedding unique.
For me, wedding photography is about being present and noticing fleeting, meaningful, and joyful moments (a shared glance, a facepalm during a speech, a cheeky giggle, a warm hug) as well as the elements that give your day its character (the florals, the signage, the weather, the landscape). I move through the day with curiosity, joy, and care, letting it unfold naturally so the images feel soulful, expressive, and alive.
I approach each wedding day as if I’m a guest with a bunch of cameras - when someone asks me how I know you two, that means I am doing my job correctly. I like to make friends with your people so that I can witness all the moments. Also it’s more fun for everyone that way.
Weddings aren’t just events. They’re deeply personal, and I don’t take that lightly. My work is mostly unposed, sometimes impressionistic, but always rooted in real connection, capturing you, your people, and meaningful places in a way that feels grounded and authentic.

Her work is full of heart and warmth and captures the perfectly imperfect bits of weddings—the raucous laughter, the blurriness of a cake cutting after lots of champagne, and the wilting-yet-somehow-more-beautiful bouquets at the end of the night. Amanda was such a joy to work with for our engagement shoot and wedding. I gave her my vague vision and she executed it flawlessly. She has such an amazing artistic instinct, while at the same time being so fun and easy to talk to which makes working with her a breeze. I’m usually nervous in front of a camera and had never really done a formal photo shoot before, but Amanda really put us at ease and gave directions that allowed for some really amazing shots.
